About the "GIF Education and Training" Webinars

These webinars, organised by the GIF Education and Training Working Group (ETWG), are streamed live monthly. The recordings and slide decks are accessible after the webinar on this website. These webinars cover a very broad range of technical and policy related topics. At the end of 2023 they have been viewed by more than 15000 people (approximately half of the views during the live streams and the other half views being of the archives on the public GIF website). In total, the GIF webinars have reached Generation IV enthusiasts, scientists, and engineers in more than 80 countries.

About this Webinar

This session marks the 10th anniversary of the GIF Education and Training Working Group (ETWG). It will bring together experts and stakeholders to discuss the future of skills development, knowledge preservation, and career opportunities for Generation IV nuclear energy systems. The programme features perspectives from policy, academia, and youth, followed by a panel discussion and open Q&A.

Key topics include evolving career paths in Generation IV R&D and industry, persistent and emerging skill gaps, and strategies to attract and retain the next generation of nuclear innovators. The session will also explore the role of GIF and ETWG in supporting the global Generation IV talent ecosystem.

The event is open to students, early-career professionals, researchers, HR and training coordinators, policymakers, and private reactor developers. Participants can join in person (upon invitation) or online, with interactive engagement encouraged throughout the session.
